Clothing manufactured from bamboo textile fiber is luxuriously soft, highly absorbent and naturally antimicrobial. Bamboo fabric has an amazing property of absorbing moisture from the skin and evaporating it in hot humid weather. This quality of the garment combined with it' s natural softness gives the wearer a refreshingly cool feeling unlike any other garment. Bamboo has the properties which make it one of the most ecologically friendly plants that can help heal the environmental bruises inflicted upon planet Earth by mankind.
Bamboo is a totally self reliant grass that thrives naturally without the use of pesticides, fertilizers or any help from man. Due to it' s extraordinary quality of water absorbency, bamboo is known to be the fastest growing plant in the world. Some species of bamboo grow as mush as 20 to 40 feet high in a matter of a few months and reach full maturity in 3 to 4 years. It spreads rapidly across large areas and is known to improve soil quality in degraded and eroded areas of land. Popularity of bamboo clothing will lead to the cultivation of more bamboo plantations, which means more photosynthesis and less greenhouse gas. Bamboo has and continues to make up for some of the damage caused by deforestation. Ethical: Miss Voltage believes in and supports fair and ethical trade. In order to underline this and to promote these practices worldwide, we have carefully chosen a supplier, who is a member of the FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION. The FWF exists to promote fair labour conditions in the garment industry world wide, this means that our supplier has undersigned FWF's Code of Labour practices and thereby the company has comitted itself to monitor the factories of it's suppliers, and the Fair Wear Foundation verifies that the Code of Labour practices is actually implemented and respected at the factories.
Environmental: Our supplier is OEKO-TEX 100 STANDARD certified, which guarantees the safety of our textiles and dyestuffs to human health and also means we take care in adopting environmentally friendly production methods across our brand. The Oeko-Tex 100 Standard addresses the Human Ecology component of textile products. It evaluates and screens for any harmful substances present within processed textiles intended to come into contact with consumers.
Sustainable: The NATURALLY SUSTAINABLE BAMBOO label is made from the most sustainable of the natural fibres, the type of bamboo used for making fabric, commonly known as Moso, can reach a mature height of 75 feet in just 45 to 60 days and because of its natural antibacterial properties, it needs no pesticides. It regenerates naturally through an extensive root system that sends out an average of four to six new shoots per year. It can be harvested and harvested and it will grow again and again.
